Project summary
The international conference ‘Functional materials and Nanotechnologies-2017’ was held in Tartu, Estonia in April, 24 – 27, 2017.
The scope of the conference covers experimental and theoretical research on functional materials, nanotechnology, optical materials, novel characterization methods, low dimensional systems and sustainable energy technologies.
The welcome party took place in Physicum, Tartu University.
Next three days (25.­-27.04) was filled with plenary, oral and poster presentations in the field of materials science, nanotechnology and sustainable energetics.

To reduce the seasonality of the tourism in Estonia.
To increase the visibility of Tartu as a center of science and high education.
Project results
In the conference participated 113 delegates from abroad (20 different countries), 57 delegates from Estonia. 16 invited lectures, 34 oral and 108 poster presentations was held. The influence on hotel business was 362 additional overnight stayings by the FM&NT-2017 conference delegates.
